Daredevil

Nick and Dave from work came south of the river to play this evening. After we went for a quick one after work for Hugh’s Birthday that is. Although to be fair only Hugh and Tom had alcohol. It was like a meeting of AA. Really it was 🙂
So Nick, Dave and I went to the waterfront for pizza (which was excellent as usual) and then to Streatham Odeon to watch Daredevil (trailers).
It was good I enjoyed it – although action movies with cute guys running around in leather outfits always do it for me 🙂
I left Dave and Nick on the platform at Streatham Common awaiting a Victoria bound train. Hopefully they will make it home (well to one of them at least).

What is a straight wardrobe?

Popbitch says what people are asking this week:
Which bad boy rap megastar enjoys a public reputation as a womaniser but is secretly dating his bodyguard? He makes sure that he has a constant supply of beards, and also orders his stylist to make his wardrobe “as straight as possible”.
I’m actually asking what on earth is a straight wardrobe? I mean does that mean we can all walk around wearing G-Strings and sarongs like David Beckham? If so I’d rather wear a gay wardrobe thanks.

Wednesday Humour

A little rabbit is happily running through the forest when he
stumbles upon a giraffe rolling a joint.
The rabbit looks at her and says, “Giraffe my friend, why do you
do this? Come. Run with me through the forest! You’ll feel so much
better!”
The giraffe looks at him, looks at the joint, tosses it and goes
off running with the rabbit.

Then they come across an elephant doing coke. So the rabbit again
says, “Elephant my friend, why do you do this?
Think about your health. Come. Run with us through the pretty
forest, you’ll see, you’ll feel so good!”
The elephant looks at them, looks at his razor, mirror and all,
then tosses them and starts running with the rabbit and giraffe.

The three animals then come across a lion about to shoot up…
“Lion my friend, why do you do this? Think about your health!
Come run with us through the sunny forest, you’ll feel so good!”
The lion looks at him, puts down his needle, and starts to beat
the sh#t out of the little rabbit. As the giraffe and elephant
watch in horror, they look at him and ask,
“Lion, why did you do this? … He was merely trying to help us!”

The lion answers, “That little f***! He makes me run around the
forest like a muppet every time he’s done an E.”

Thanks to Steve for sending me that this afternoon – made ma laugh and choke in the office.

Strangely Familiar

Two years ago (or slightly more to be honest) I was chatting to Spencer on that well know ‘dating’ site. We had chatted for a while and not quite got around to meeting up. Eventually we met by accident at Streatham Common train station. He was stood in line in front of me buying a ticket.
Yesterday a very similar thing happened. Miles and I have also been chatting on the same site. We’ve even chatted on the phone. We haven’t managed to arrange to meet yet though. So imagine my suprise when I see someone who looks strangely familiar stood in front of me at Kensington Olympia train station yesterday evening. Imagine my shock when he pulls out his phone and calls me to check he is right and it is me.
Weirdness abounds 🙂

Happy Birthday to me :)

Ooh Ooh another year.
So yesterday I was officially 33. I was in need of a quiet affair since the festivities are all planned for next weekend and I’m still not 100% and on antibiotics.
So got up late. Went to the Trafalgar in Tooting for pub lunch with Jacs, Nick and Helen. Went home. Snoozed until late. Went to bed.
Who says I’m past it 😉
Also despite requesting no presents I received an excellent gift. The box set of 24 series 1. So I’ll be booking out time to watch that again soon. Hopefully before the new series starts on February 16th.

It was BBC Three‘s Birthday too yesterday. I’ve seen all the adverts heralding the new digital channel from the beeb. So imagine my suprise when I discovered it wasn’t actually a new channel but a rebranding of BBC Choice. Who would have thought?

Gutted

In the states last year with Mark my boss we stopped in the Apple Store in Tysons Corner and oohed and ahhed over the JBL Creature Speakers. Unfortunately I had no luggage space left or I would have bought them there and then.
Friday evening we chatted about them again and I wanted a pair for my iPod so I can listen to music in the soon to be newly refurbished kitchen.
So Apple only had them in silver and I wanted white. It has to match the iPod after all and silver is so last year.
We both ordered them from Jigsaw24.com as they seemed to be the only other UK stockist. Only to discover today that Apple now sell the white ones for less and no delivery charge.
I phoned Jigsaw24 and they have processed my order (to be delivered tomorrow woo hoo) but not Mark’s. So he is off to order his for less from Apple.
So I am gutted at the extra ?10. It may not be a lot but it’s the principle of the thing. The internet is supposed to make buying things easier and cheaper 🙂
