today

I mostly want to just go and become a recluse – I couldn’t sleep last night – lots on my mind – and today everything I have touched has fallen apart. I feel an overwhelming gloom settling like a thundercloud and it’s worrying me.

I’m feeling bad too as I broke my New Year resolution on the 5th day – well technically it was after midnight so the 6th day of 2002 and feel resigned to being a smoker for the rest of my life.

Oh and I am very very moody 🙁

the weekend

well an interesting weekend all in all – I was going to revert to a weekend in

hypertext™ but then realised a lot of it would be missed as there are

no related websites. Friday night was a bit of a rest and recuperation from the

working week – I know it was only 3 days but it’s about 3 weeks since the last

time I worked! The boyf was washing his hair [I know and there was no joke] even

though he has just had a #1. Still it did mean I got some much needed rest. Saturday

was a mixed day – went and ordered the carpet for my hall – it will be the first

time I have had carpet in the hall for a year and a half. So now all I need to

do is remove all the laminate I laid at the top before realising I couldn’t get

it to go down the stairs. DIYtastic – not! After tidying and the other usual weekend

chores I got bored and the boyf still wanted to spend time on his own so I decided

to take the plunge and go out on my own – I bottled it though and luckily Rob was already going out. Unfortunately

he was going to the reflex in kingston 🙁 too many memories I figured of when

I used to go to the reflex when it was still in putney. I spent part of the night

looking for tom before I remembered.other than that though I had a fab night –

cheers rob 🙂 I was introduced to his friends [including the cute ginger craig]

and bumped into Robin who I knew from when I used to be the assistant manager

at the Old Doctor Butlers Head in the city. He used to come on a thursday night

when the gay mens professionals used to meet in the upstairs bar. Sunday as ever

after a heavy night was spent mostly vegging in front of the TV watching totty.

Ben Browder, Paul from S Club, some rather cute bloke on Sliders – played Deric

played by Eddie Mills

When we weren’t vegging though we managed to go to the common and walk the dogs

and to the local for quite possibly the best meal I have eaten. The lovely lady

behind the bar asked Rob and I completely without irony if we wanted chicken or

beef We both had beef although in real life Rob normally does chicken! In

fact the only downer of the day was the number of adverts for McDonalds – I could

quote it word for word – but I’m not going to. Still no sign of the boyf though

– he sent me a text earlier to say he couldn’t come for a walk as he was too ill

and he was going out with mates to see Lord of the Rings. Call me paranoid but

I think this needs an entry in the other blog…

smallville

okay so scally was upset he missed smallville and quite rightly points out [well actually I pointed out to him via IM yesterday] that clarkes dad is a bit of alright – mind you I thought that when he played Bo Duke in the Dukes of Hazard too and I was only 9 :).

However the plot was very weak and I couldn’t help but be distracted that young clarke looked very similar to hamilton from young americans.

It was dave that started it all by asking if we had seen it though the other day – and he raved about it – gah bloody antipodeans!

happy new year

I hope everyone had a good night last night – whatever you did and wherever you are. Let’s hope 2002 brings you all what you want.

I have decided to try and quit smoking again this year – so I thought I better make a public declartation. Although I am not going on the wagon too like I did in the summer for my marathon training.

I actually ventured into town last night to see big ben chime in the new year – something I have never done in the 12 or so years I have lived in London. I always avoided it like the plague – thought the crowds would be hellish but they weren’t that bad actually.

We had a german [patrick] and 2 kiwis [michelle and dave] which kind of steeled us into moving from the flat around 11 and going into town. Rick and david had already left for the pub!

So all in all a lovely night with less clearing up than usual for me today 🙂

oh my god

I just added the tripods to my wish list 🙂 blast from the past or what Takes me back to english classes when we had to write a book review of the books we had read over the summer – I had stayed with my cousins in Connecticut and Kenneth ah introduced me to john christopher – I bought all 3 and read and re-read them all that year.

I was 14 [allegedly it is classed as Juvenile Fiction/Science Fiction, Fantasy, & Magic] when this series was first shown and I was amazed how well they had taken the books and brought them to life. I was astounded that they stopped filming after the second series and always wondered if they would re-run it – I never saw it if they did. A definite case of you should read the books first but if you haven’t got time then maybe you should just watch the series 🙂 I know I will be when the first pay check comes in 2002!

Merry Christmas Everyone

hope everyone has had [or is still having for those of you in the US] a fabulous and merry christmas. It truly has been a family christmas for me for the first time in a few years. My brother, sister-in-law, neice, nana, grandad, mum, dad, and numerous aunts and uncles are all staying at my parents for a hectic but fun christmas dinner. a joint effort thankfully or my mum would have collapsed with the effort I think.

so whereever you are and whatever you are doing have a great time.
